Higher Mathematics for Electrical Engineers and Physicists
Higher Mathematics for electrical engineers and physicists ist a course spanning four semesters. It aims to teach not only the basic concepts of mathematics but also to equip students with the way of thinking and the structure of mathematics. After completing all four courses, you should be able to find and understand additional mathematical literature that is necessary for you studies. Higher Mathematics is taught in German.
The course contents give an introduction to the following topics: one and multivariable calculus, linear algebra, ordinary differential equations, vector calculus and integration theorems, Fourier series, complex analysis.
On top of that, physics students have an additional set of lectures for HM IV. In these, an introduction to the theory of Hilbert spaces and bounded operators, to the fourier transform and to tempered distributions will be given.
