Research training group EDDy

We are part of the DFG-sponsored Research Training Group EDDy, short for "Energy, Entropy, and Dissipative Dynamics."

EDDy provides funding for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers to carry out their work as part of a larger group focused on models from physics and materials science in which underlying energies or dissipative mechanisms play a deciding role.

In addition to offering a critical mass of EDDy researchers and a carefully structured joint-supervision model, EDDy hosts research seminars, supports doctoral research travel, and sponsors local events (Basic Notions seminars, Math Chats) aimed at bachelor's and master's students with interest in applied mathematics.
